From excess stock to better decisions: FINDS at Tech for Retail 2026

Retailers do not lack data. What they often lack is a simple way to turn that data into the right decision.

This becomes particularly visible when inventory reaches the end of its normal sales cycle. Should a product be sent to outlet? Sold through an off-price partner? Included in an employee sale? Donated? Recycled? Or kept for another commercial opportunity?

Each option comes with different implications for margin, operational complexity, brand positioning and sustainability. And as the number of products, locations and possible channels increases, these decisions become increasingly difficult to manage manually.

This is the challenge FINDS is addressing.

On 30 November and 1 December, FINDS will be exhibiting at Tech for Retail 2026 in Paris to demonstrate how retailers can move from fragmented excess-stock management towards structured, data-driven decision-making.

From inventory visibility to decision intelligence

For many fashion and beauty retailers, managing end-of-life inventory still involves multiple teams, spreadsheets, systems and business rules.

The challenge is not simply knowing how much stock is left.

The real question is: What is the best decision we can make for this inventory now?

FINDS brings together stock data, sales history and the operational constraints specific to each retailer to simulate and compare different scenarios.

Instead of evaluating each opportunity independently, teams can understand the potential outcome of different strategies and identify the most relevant route for each product, stock position or pallet.

Outlet, off-price, employee sales, internal redistribution, donation, recycling or other channels can therefore become part of one structured decision process.

Recover more value from every stock decision

Excess inventory is often treated primarily as a problem to eliminate.

At FINDS, we believe it should instead be treated as inventory that still carries value — provided the right decision is made at the right moment.

FINDS helps retailers:

  • Maximise recovered value by choosing the best path for each stock position. FINDS compares available channels and scenarios — outlet, off-price, redistribution and others — to help teams identify the option that best protects margin and inventory value.
  • Simulate decisions before stock moves. By evaluating financial, operational and logistical impacts in advance, FINDS helps teams avoid unnecessary movements, handling costs and value loss while prioritising the stock that requires action first.
  • Turn fragmented manual processes into a controlled decision system. FINDS brings together inventory data, business rules and channel constraints in one place, reducing manual work and preventing costly allocation errors before they happen.

The objective is not simply to move stock faster.

It is to understand which action creates the best possible outcome for a specific stock situation.
